PA6 MOS2 (Polyamide 6 with the addition of molybdenum disulphide – MoS₂) is a modified structural engineering plastic material based on standard PA6, but with the addition of the solid lubricant molybdenum disulphide. This additive significantly improves wear resistance, reduces friction and increases dimensional stability, while maintaining most of the mechanical properties of the base PA6.
Main properties:
Improved wear and friction resistance due to the addition of MoS₂
Self-lubricating properties, suitable for applications without additional lubrication
Good mechanical strength and rigidity
Reduced moisture absorption compared to unfilled PA6
Higher dimensional stability
Good thermal resistance (continuous use up to approx. +100 °C, short-term up to +160 °C)
Lower sensitivity to deformation caused by moisture
Typical applications:
Guides, bushings, gears, rollers and sliding elements
Parts in linear guides and belt conveyors
Components for agricultural, transport and automotive industries
Machined parts where a balance between strength and reduced friction is required
Standards and classifications:
DIN: PA6G + MoS₂
ISO: Polyamide 6 + MoS₂
EN: PA6 MoS₂
ASTM: Type 6 Nylon with molybdenum disulphide
In accordance with RoHS, often not FDA approved due to the addition of MoS₂
Processing compliant with standards for machining technical plastics
