Detailed description – Underlay rubber for polycarbonate sheets
The underlay rubber is an important installation element when fitting multiwall or solid polycarbonate sheets, as it serves as a protective and cushioning layer between the sheet and the supporting structure (aluminium or steel). Its main purpose is to prevent direct contact, which can lead to creaking, mechanical stress, thermal expansion, or damage to the sheet caused by friction.
The rubber absorbs vibrations, reduces the impact of temperature differences between the sheet and the substructure, and extends the overall lifespan of the construction. It also enables a more even distribution of pressure during screwing, preventing point stress and cracks on the sheets.
The underlay rubber is made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound that withstands UV rays, rain, snow, and temperature changes. It is available in a standard length of 6 metres, with the possibility of adjusting to the width of the profiles.
Suitable for use in:
canopies,
greenhouses,
light strips,
pergolas
and all constructions where polycarbonate sheets are used.
