Textolite rods of type HGW 2088 are made from cotton fabric impregnated with phenolic resin, formed by compression and curing into rod shapes. Due to their mechanical properties, these rods are ideal for machining on lathes, CNC machines, and other mechanical processes where high wear resistance and good insulation are required.
Main Properties:
Excellent mechanical strength, even at higher temperatures
Good resistance to wear and impact
Good sliding and self-lubricating properties without added lubricants
Electrically insulating material (not suitable for high-voltage applications)
Easy to machine (cutting, drilling, turning)
Typical Applications:
Sliding bearings, bushings, spacers
Housings and supports in electrical devices
Machine and equipment parts in textile, woodworking, metalworking, and electrical industries
Low-voltage electrical insulators
Standards:
DIN 7735: HGW 2088
IEC 60893-3-4: PF CC 201
EN 60893
Also known as: Textolite, cotton phenolic rod, cotton fabric laminated rod, Baquelite coton
